Who are you again?

Listen: Who R U by Anderson .Paak ft. Dr. Dre

The new Anderson .Paak single is SO good. Not sure where .Paak ends and Dr. Dre’s production begins, but Anderson likes it that way; about 30% of this ego track is about pride in working with him. Underneath lyrics that rock back and forth between self-aggrandizement and a chorus that asks, “Who are you? / I don’t know, no,” the beat drives everything, steered by variations in percussive force. Most of the song is underlaid by subdivisions that feel like they’re pulled from the climax of a step dance show, which makes for some pretty consistent intensity, but every time that percussion drops out, there’s power. Look for the section around :40 that snaps into those straight claps you hear more often from Beyoncé, and then for the times when the beat cuts out at the head of the chorus. All of which is to say, get ready for this beat to bump out of every object around you– and for .Paak’s full album to drop on Friday.

Of course this exists: a headstone startup

The newest darling of the startup world (not really but it is my fave), “Over My Dead Body,” is a service that will connect you, living person, with a graphic designer to concept your ideal headstone. The company then sits on it until you die, at which point they deliver it to your next of kin. It’s the status marker of a mausoleum for the digital generation. Will the company stay alive longer than you do? Wait and see.

A memorial for the digital generation, you say?

Forget a headstone. The way people are going to remember you is through your record on the internet. So arguably, the award for the best human-legacy startup goes to “What About Wiki,” a company that will adjust your Wikipedia page to your specifications for a few thousand dollars. Yes, this is totally against the rules, and no, they can’t do it for just anybody– you have to actually have accomplishments in order for your page to pass by the editors undetected. So, if you think this might for you, check here to see whether you’re eligible for Wikipedia coverage. Oh, and you get a 10% discount if you pay with bitcoin.
