TOO CONVENIENT

Listen: Stay There by Brasstracks

Let’s all make the best of Monday with some optimistic funk. Brasstacks is only a duo, but they have a whole big-band thing going on underneath their Chance-the-Rapper style soul. Actually, that’s not totally fair. They produced a song on Coloring Book, so maybe it’s the inverse and Chance is going Brasstracks style. Either way, they’ve also collaborated with Anderson .Paak, 2 Chainz and Lil Wayne, and Robert Glasper is all over their 2018 EP. Kind of a biggest-act-you’ve-never-heard-of thing, they’re taking that EP on tour right now with a few stops left in Asia, in case that’s where you happen to be, but at the end they’ll come back home to Brooklyn, where, fingers crossed, we can catch their uplifting horns in person (which may well be electronically rendered, but at least we’ll know for sure).

Caviar, delivered

This is pretty New York-specific, but has anybody seen those Caviar ads at bus stops? They go something like: “Fausto. Speedy Romeo. Mekelberg’s. DELIVERED.” For context, that’s a promise of accessing all the hot restaurants, without having to actually go to them. Which is exactly the opposite of the point, right? Cheers if you prefer thin-crust delivery to whatever old-school pizza joint, but at least 60% of the value proposition of a premium restaurant is its ambiance (like, broken down into dollars). What’s so great about your living room?

Next level

Compared to this, the Caviar thing is splitting hairs. Are you ready? Goldbelly is a startup that will overnight you a single dish from a faraway restaurant of your choice. That means that from New York, you can get a cheesesteak from Philly for $100. Or barbecue from Texas for $250. Before you write this off as insane, know that the company has raised $15 million from Danny Meyer’s fund and was chosen as a Y Combinator company in 2013. Which I guess validates the idea that companies for rich people are winning propositions, and also poses the sad thought that some people are too rich to even bother with lived experience. Just saying, I feel like you could find a $250 flight to Austin.

A reasonable delivery $

Some things don’t need to be a destination. Case in point: bone broth. Kettle & Fire is offering 20% off of their beef and chicken bone broth, which they’ll deliver straight to you. It’s got all the good stuff that bone broth is known for: collagen for strong hair, nails and skin (and also for gut healing), lots of protein and amino acids. Totally solid for any hip diet you happen to be on, or just for everyday tasties. Best part? Money back if you don’t like it. Grab your discount here.

Armchair travel has never been tastier. (That’s a free slogan, guys, use it.)

PS Was pumped to hear from so many of you re: The Dry Issue on Friday. More like “The BOYER-Dry Issue,” you’re right.
