Land ho!

Listen: The Sneaker Dance by Kero Kero Bonito

I first experienced the Sneaker Dance as a chair dance, but I recommend you get up and do it correctly. Kero Kero Bonito is a fairly low-profile indie pop band from South London whose style is sometimes characterized as “tweelectro,” and this new bit is accordingly bouncy, as you will be in about five seconds. “A true blue sneaker fan ain’t scared of no scratch,” as they say. Get after it.

Drop it like it’s formerly hot

It’s been a minute since we checked in on pandemic-time San Francisco, but I hear it’s feeling pretty spacious: Thanks to all the remote internetting, their corporate vacancy rate is considerably higher than the national average. So while they sit on a bunch of empty real estate in a low market, all the big companies are trying to get their office buildings reappraised so they can save on their taxes. Dropbox, for example, wants its building’s value cut by half. So does the new owner of the Transamerica Pyramid, and the Warriors Arena wants to drop its price by a billion. Makes sense for them but sucks real hard for tax revenue. Tough to be a one-industry town, even when your industry is doing just fine.

It’s easy street online

The SF news feels less concerning when you consider that a piece of “land” just sold for $2.4 million IN THE METAVERSE. You’d think space would be more or less infinite there, right, so what could drive up property value so fast? Other kinds of scarcity. This one flashy plot runs along the digital street where all the hot fashion stores are, so ideally the owners will be able to capitalize on all the digital people digitally lining up outside digital Supreme or whatever. Culture! It’s worth something!

Stop and stay a while $

While we’re on the fashion street, let’s call attention to LIVELY, the bra company promising all-day comfort for you and yours. Their bras and bralettes blur the aesthetic lines of lingerie, activewear, and swim, taking the best elements of style and comfort from each category. Each piece is supportive and devoid of pokey wires, so maybe you’ll forget you even have one on? See for yourself: Use the code “SAVE” for 10% off your first purchase.

Goodbye, Staples Center, hello, Crypto.com Arena.
