An… experience.

Listen: Take U There by Jasper Lotti

Jasper Lotti is an experimental pop artist from White Plains, NY, currently putting out dystopian tracks from home bases in Maine and LA. Her “dyspop” takes heavy inspiration from sacred texts, as you’ll hear on “Take U There.” The track feels like what would happen if French Montana asked the children in the Unforgettable video to learn dark choral music, with Lotti’s musky, autotuned voice woven in. It’s an agitating listen; if you’re in it for the upside-down, she really does take you there. It’s juicy, it’s sparkly. Get in here.

A CABIN in the middle of Manhattan?!?!?! 🍁 ✨

Dear Snake Person,*

Is fall your entire personality? Do you absolutely LIVE for weekends upstate? Well this week, ditch your Airbnb because a Manhattan hotel has an *experience* for you.  The Arlo in Soho has constructed two tiny cabins in thier courtyard that you can book for two hours at a time– to have a drink, maybe, but mostly to photograph you and your friends inside. Deemed a “very fun and hilarious” activity by TimeOut New York, it presents many fun possibilities, including: sitting on a futon with a blanket; opening the door and closing it again; walking outside at the end of your two hours and still being in Manhattan. Book your spot ASAP.

A dreamhouse in Malibu 😍

Ok, so you DO want to get out of town but you still want the experience to be ~branded~. Consider booking Barbie’s Dreamhouse. A real Airbnb in Malibu, it’s massive like the real thing and available next week to a bunch of lucky guests for two nights only. No need to make plans in Malibu, cause your itinerary will be full; Barbie’s expecting visits from hairstylists and makeup artists (MAKEOVERS!!!) in addition to chef and business owner Gina Clarke-Helm, Olympic fencing medalist Ibtihaj Muhammad, and Jill Meyers, a lady astronaut. Wouldn’t be a Barbie experience without a stereotypically masculine business endeavor to round out your updo.

A more compelling weekend choice $

Now that we’ve seen what the experience economy can do, maybe it’s time to just invest in things again. Enter: Otis, a new app that lets you invest in art and collectibles for as little as $25 (they do the work of filing with the SEC). They’re trying to make investing more accessible to people who don’t have millions to spend, and also help us invest in tangible objects that we know and care about. Upcoming art drops include a Kaws piece and a Murakami x Abloh collab, and there are sneakers, luxury items and comics to invest in, too.

You can scope them online, but I’m here to invite you to their inaugural East Village exhibition opening on October 26-27, where their current investment pieces are being shown. Tickets are free with a reservation, so RSVP and come out for a nice wholesome cultural experience. No updo required.

In case you’re wondering, Barbie is a verified Airbnb host. To sit in on that meeting…
