Sneakers, duh

Listen: Another Lifetime by Nao

OOF, this one’s a doozy. Nao is reflecting on failed love in here, waiting for ‘another lifetime’ for something to work out. The video is sparse and warm, showing scenes of Nao alone, first in a room filled with sleeping friends, and then walking on a deserted street outside. As she walks, a phone line starts to spark, which symbolizes flawed communication, right? At the song’s climax it fully explodes, showering figments of light all around Nao’s sultry face. And at this point, you feel the feelings as much as she does. Watch, listen.

An outdated premise

Clicked into i-D to read about the Nike x Supreme collab and came across a statement they can’t stop saying: Sneakers are the new handbags. Did they hire Carrie Bradshaw? When’s the last time you heard somebody talk about an ‘it’ bag? And obviously sneakers are status. I guess Balenciaga is now more interested but… old news.

Also Dad fashion

Likewise old news but continuing to be a thing. Here’s the latest thinking on why, which, if you can overlook the objectifying statements about Millennials, will show you through cool interactive graphics how you can get regular-ass things now for thousands of dollars because Virgil Abloh has touched them. Thanks, but sticking with L.L. Bean.

Yeah so what about Toms $

They just came out with a new Disney collab so you can get Cinderella on your slippies. Limited release, act fast.

Has anyone asked their actual dad to weigh in on this? How about Sarah Jessica Parker?
